The installation of carpet depends on the process that you will use.
Stretch In: This installation process is used for big rolls of broadloom carpet. The carpet is cut exactly to the dimensions of the room that you will install the carpet in, and then it is rolled out over the carpet padding. Tackless strips are then installed around the outer edges of the room and used to secure the carpet to the ground. This stretch in process is the most common and easiest installation method being used today.
Glue Down or Double Glue Down: This installation process is only used for special categories of broadloom carpet. In the case of glue down, carpet is glued directly to the floor with a special adhesive. However, in the double glue down method, the padding is glued permanently to the floor with a unique adhesive only then is the carpet adhered to the padding on the floor. • First, padding is stapled down directly to the floor, covering the entire room.

• Use a knee-kicker or power stretcher to stretch the rug, with the edges secured.

• Finally, if you are skipping padding, apply the adhesive to the floor, and put the carpet on top, remember to smooth out the edges.
